Home Is Where My Story Begins

Home and Family Friday and New American Girl Clothes

My mom has been busy… very, very busy.  She made EVERY SINGLE one of these outifts for the American Girl Dolls.  But wait, she didn’t just make one of each outfit.  No, she made THREE of each outfit!  The pink evening gown, alone, took SIX hours!  Oh, my.  I don’t have the patience for sewing doll clothes.  Well, my daughter and her cousins loved their Christmas gift.  Seeing them dressing, and redressing, their dolls on the Christmas was priceless.  It was well worth the hours, and hours, and hours of laboring over the sewing machine.  Oh, wait…. I wasn’t the one who spent all of those hours sewing doll clothes, ruffling skirts, and beading the edges.  Well, I’m sure my mom would say it was worth it too.  We’ll keep these beautiful outfits forever!

We’re ready for Home and Family Friday.  Let’s see what you’ve been up to this week.  I’d love it if you’d grab my button and become a follower.

Happy Friday!

Good morning~I linked up my Easy Lace Shirt-which is more of a cape. It's a great project for a someone unaccustomed to sewing-or for a novice sewer. Thanks for hosting the party once again. Have a great weekend!

Please give your mother a hug from ME. I have sewn doll clothes too, and believe me, it is just as much work to sew an outfit for a doll as it is to sew one for a child. In fact, I think it's harder because everything is so much smaller! I once sewed a lined white fur coat, hat, and muff for Samantha AG doll. I think that was the one and only outfit I made. lol

Thanks for hosting this linky party!
