Home Is Where My Story Begins

Not Quite Ready

I ventured into my classroom earlier this week. School doesn’t start here until after Labor Day, so I have a little time. Every Summer the custodians shampoo the carpets. When we come back to school we find all of our furniture pushed to one side of the room and everything stacked in a big jumbled mess.

Not quite ready for Kindergarten, I’d say! I think I’ll take this opportunity to rethink my classroom design and layout. Maybe I’ll try a few new things this year. I have such a great job. How many professions get to have a FRESH START each and every year?

I would love to be able to have something fresh each year…I love the start of school and buying all of the school supplies for my daughter. Have fun 🙂

This is first time in 34 years I'm not in the middle of setting up my classroom/library. I retired in May. I always enjoyed the start of school and making my classroom not only comfortable for me but welcoming for the students. I guess I'll have to come up with some decorating projects on the home front.

Hope you have a great year.

I've been working in my room too. It's so fun to start a promising new year!

At least you have things in your room! lol Each year our school turns into a camp, so every June, every little piece of furniture, decoration, basket, chair, piece of paper is moved out of the room into storage so it is completely empty so Camp can start afresh. But what that means is that come September, we have to put it all together again. Oh yes, we have things back in our room, but everything is generally where is should be – in a PILE – and we have about 40 boxes to unpack and put in it's proer place. Ugh. 🙂

Happy school year to you! 🙂
