Home Is Where My Story Begins

Small Town Bakery

We’re over in Eastern Washington for a basketball tournament this weekend, and one of our teammates told us about a great bakery they found. We had about 30 minutes to kill before heading to the next game, so we decided to try and find it.

When we drove up, the parking lot was empty and it didn’t look anything like a bakery.

We sat in the car for a few minutes, asking each other if we should even bother to go in. We decided that there was a bakery sign on the window, so we might as well see what was inside.

This place was the most amazing small town bakery! They had racks and racks of fresh baked treats.

People were coming in and buying things that looked like sweet rolls, by the garbage bag full.

We tried to ask questions about a few things we had never seen before, but we don’t speak Spanish, and our questions were answered with smiles and nods.

I loved watching the 3 bakers in the back, rolling their trays of goodies. They had Spanish music playing and were just laughing as they prepared food for their customers.

We ended up buying a several different things that we thought looked good.

Since everything was huge, we just had a taste, for now. It was a pretty cool place. I just loved the small town feel. (And the treats weren’t too bad either!)
If you are ever in Yakima, it’s called Panederia, and it’s worth looking past the scary entrance!
