A Touch of Fall

August 26, 2010   By Becca 5 Comments

I’m not ready, but I know it’s coming whether I’m ready or not. Even though I’m still wearing tank tops and flip flops, I’m noticing that the leaves are starting to fall from my maple trees. It’s not quite as light out when I wake up either. It’s coming, so I might as well embrace it.

Today I got out a touch of fall.

The velvet drapes are hung, creating that warm and cozy dining room I love. If you’d like to see the post about the spring/summer look, click here.

I have two of these fall quilts that I draped over the backs of my chairs. When I finished my master’s program my friend, Christy, gave me some fall fabrics. She told me that I would finally have time for a hobby again. My fall quilts are my absolute favorite quilts I have made. I absolutely love the colors in these quilts, but I think the reason I adore them so much is that they remind me that hobbies other than work and school are good.

Nothing says fall like a little wheat.

I don’t have pumpkins lining my doorstep yet… just a touch of fall.

I absolutely love fall! I have been anxiously waiting to see what you would do with for fall decor. I can hardly wait. Love your blog by the way.

Love your fall quilts so much I am going to make two of my own. I already have an autumn red afghan and adding quilts with the colors and qualities of yours would be wonderful on my brown couch. Your photos are lovely.

I LOVE your DR! ANd I love fall! It's around the corner here too and my favorite (too short) time of year!
And I just read your post on loving what you have, and it's SO TRUE!!!!! My "formal" living room is where my kids have their Wii, piano and play all the time. We ALL live here and SO glad I did this a long time ago! 🙂

You fall quilts are fantastic. A goal I have for a x-mas gift is to make a reversible table runner for my mom (fall patchwork on one side, and solide xmas fabric on the other). Wish me luck!

I filled my Scentsy warmers with Autumn Sunset scent the other day, and between that and the rain, it felt like fall had arrived!

    Fall is YOUR season!
