Long story short, they were left handed scissors and I am right handed! It wasn't clearly marked so I just thought I had been had. Once I realized that they were lefties it was way too late to return them. Anyway 33 years later I found them still in their box and gave them to a friend who sews a lot and is left handed. I bought a lightweight pair a few years ago and they are okay but not great so a new pair of shears are on my list this year! Thanks for sharing, I love your posts.
