Years ago, when my friend Diane and I were pregnant with our second babies, we had the best summer ever. We spent most of our time floating in pools or lakes, eating ice cream, and loving summer life with our kids. Ever since that year, we’ve been striving to have the second best summer ever.
This year, we had amazing weather and my kids just wanted to be outside, playing in the water somewhere… anywhere. Diane spent a lot of her time working, but I was able to bring her kids along on our water adventures. Hindsight, I think this may go down as the second best summer ever for my kids and for their old mom who was needed to drive them to various lakes and pools.
Spending time with my kids and their friends makes me happy. Cheers to a great summer season. (Don’t be sad, Diane. Next year will probably be just as great.) My countdown continues. Only 3 or 4 summers left with my oldest and a handful more with my youngest. I’m glad I’m making them count.
