About 2 years ago, I bought some beautiful French striped fabric from Calico Corners. I bought enough for pillows and valances. Then, I had sewist block. (It’s kind of like writer’s block, but for people who sew.) I lost my vision for the look I wanted for my family room. The fabric sat, gathering dust, in a corner of my craft room.
During the past few weeks, I decided to just go for it. I started cutting up my fabric, making pillows and plans for the room. I love the way the striped pillows turned out! I put zippers in the bottoms of the pillows, so I can change them out with the seasons. I had originally thought these would be my easy-breezy-summer-looking pillows. I think they’ll look great during the Christmas season too!
I learned my lesson from my last set of pillows and I was careful to line up the stripes before sewing. Look at the texture in that fabric! I just love it! It’s about time I got around to doing something with this fabric! By the way, if you are a Calico Corner’s lover, the Mill Creek store is closing. It might be a good time to find a few deals, but I’m so sad to see them go.
