Several years ago, Pottery Barn had a really cool plaid quilt in their Teen catalog. It was just a bunch of different plaids and stripes, cut into squares, and sewn together. I always thought it would be fun to make a quilt like that for my son.
I found the perfect fabric, all bundled together in fat quarter packs, at my favorite quilt shop. I loved the fabric because it had the look of men’s shirting. I bought it, brought it home, and it sat in my craft room for about six years.
Well, I finally got my act together. It’s almost done. All I have to do is bind it and put it on my son’s bed. I wonder how many years it will be until I get around to doing that part!
Happy quilting!
Here are a few linky parties I like to participate in.

I LOVE quilts, such a reminder of my Grannie and Great-grannie…all those quilting B's.
I have a few of her quilts…and the other ones that cover our beds are from Quilts Etc….they are just very homey.
Blessings,
Connie
BTW: So not too feel so bad. I made an afghan for my daughter when I was pregnant with her and I finished it just in time for her wedding…she was 20 when she got married:-)

Love it! Simple yet classy. I have a lot of fabric that is waiting for a purpose also. 6 years isn't too bad 🙂 I have a baby quilt I made for my now 5 year old that is still waiting on the binding.

I remember that quilt in their catalog too. I also liked it as well. Many years later I took a quilting class and learned to quilt. I wasn't as lucky as you finding a fabric bundle of shirting fabrics. Instead, I saved all my son's outgrown plaid shirts and twill/cotton pants and will be cutting those up to make his quilt.
The binding is the most relaxing/fun part. Don't let that keep you from finishing it and putting it on your son's bed. I have three months to piece, quilt and bind my son's. he graduates in three months. Wish me luck
