My friend, Diane, recently posted her version of How to Spend a Sunny Saturday on The Perfectly Imperfect Life. I loved reading how she spent her day. So, today I thought I’d share my version.
If you’re not from the Pacific Northwest, I’m sure you can’t appreciate this quite as much. Saturday was sunny and 58 degrees! It was starting to feel like the rain would never end. Then, boom… a nice day that happened to fall on a weekend! 58 degrees may sound like bundle up kind of weather to most people. Here, it’s time to break out the capris and flip flops, find a chair in the sunshine, and soak it up because it’ll be gone in the blink of an eye.
Here are the things we checked off the sunny Saturday TO DO list:
Scrub, stain, and varathane the outdoor benches.
Add outdoor pillows to the benches to add a little pre-flower-season color.
I bought the red pillows at Kohl’s and made the striped pillows with Sunbrella fabric from Jo-Ann.
Pressure wash the deck, fence, and swingset. It’s still too wet to add the outdoor cushions. Cooper is looking at me taking pictures, wishing I’d just put down the camera and pick up a ball. He’s our 7 month old Labradoodle.
Pressure wash the basketball court (AKA the driveway).
My husband and I also tackled windows. I washed indoor windows, wooden blinds, and window tracks. He washed screens, outdoor windows, and skylights. I think I got the better end of that deal.
By the end of the day, this… was calling my name.
Unfortunately, once I sat down I noticed that it really needed a pillow. That project will have to wait for a rainy day.
